When adolescent Benjamin begins spouting violent passages from the Old Testament, the people around him become concerned. As his behavior becomes more aggressive, they begin to question his new fundamentalist views. While Benjamin fights for his beliefs to be heard, the adults in charge must choose to either engage his behavior or ignore it as childish curiosity. But if they choose to take him seriously, do they then have a responsibility to do something about it? Translated from its original German, Martyr asks us how we should respond to those who frighten us.
