BREAKDOWN
OUR DEAR DEAD DRUG LORD:
A gang of teenage girls gathers in an abandoned treehouse to summon the ghost of Pablo Escobar. Are they messing with the actual spirit of the infamous cartel kingpin? Or are they really just messing with each other? A roller coaster ride through the danger and damage of girlhood – the teenage wasteland – has never been so much twisted fun.
-PIPE: president of the dead leaders club. brilliant, sophisticated, intense. makes the rules. will run a fortune 500 company one day. cuban-american. just turned 18.
-ZOOM: pipe’s next door neighbor. impulsive, hilarious, excitable. wears glasses. will go through many phases of ‘finding herself’. jewish- american. 15.
-SQUEEZE: pipe’s best friend. practical, grounded, creative. allergic to cats. will run for congress the second she is old enough. puerto rican on mom’s side. haitian on dad’s side.16.
-KIT: new girl in town. sensual, mysterious, restrained. the kind of impossibly-cool that is both intimidating and seductive. not so much thinking about the future, only how to get by in the moment. colombian- american. 17.
-PABLO ESCOBAR: Pablo Escobar – summoned
-PIPE’S LITTLE SISTER: 9 years old.
ANNE-TIG-UH-KNEE:
DOES EVERYONE HAVE WHAT THEY NEED? Anne-Tig-Uh-Knee is a collaborative, inside-out reimagining of the classic Greek tragedy featuring true stories, real rules, and an attempt to rebuild a society once everything’s broken.

Note: The Role of Messenger has been pre-cast.
PLEASE NOTE: These plays feature intimate moments. The production staff will include an accredited Intimacy/Violence Director and all concerns from the cast will be absolutely considered in the staging of these productions. All potential cast members will have ample opportunity to review the script and address any questions/concerns with the director and STT staff before accepting any roles and beginning rehearsals.

$293 weekly minimum + health and pension
Non-Equity actors will receive a $1,050 stipend for the run.
AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
Please prepare a monologue in the style of the show(s) or character(s) you are interested in auditioning for. We may ask you for a second piece.
Please email jobs@secondthoughttheatre.com and provide at least a 1 hour window of availability to reserve an audition time by Friday, February 24th at 6pmCST.

NOTE: All actors must be able to provide documentation of full vaccination of a US-government approved COVID19 vaccine regimen for COVID19, at the time of hire.
Second Thought Theatre is currently planning to present these productions in-person live to a full audience capacity of 60. Actors and production staff will not be allowed to come in contact with the audience outside of the performance room. Audience will be seated at a minimum of 6’ away and masks will be required for all patrons.
